I asked some of the kids what their favorite thing is about Grandma, and this is what they said...

**Laura: "She went to South Dakota with us this summer on vacation!"

**Lisa: "She is nice!"

**Marissa: "She gives me singing cards for my birthday. And she comes to visit us!"

**Emma: "She gives us candy and we get to go to her house for Thanksgiving!"

**Jessica: "She gave birth to our mom!"

**Me: "I like you 'cause you're our grandma!"

Cookies!

This afternoon I baked cookies! Marissa and Emma helped me make them. The recipe was interesting because it called for jello to be mixed in the dough! We used orange jello mix and so the cookies were a pale orange in color and very tasty. We made about five dozen or so and half of them were eaten by supper time!

Jello Pastel Cookies


3 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 cups butter, softened (3 sticks)
1 cup sugar
1 pkg. jello (4 serving size)
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla


Preheat oven to 400. Mix flour & baking powder; set aside.


Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add sugar and 1 pkg. of the dry jello, beating until light & fluffy. Add eggs & vanilla, mix well. Gradually add flour mixture, beating until well blended.


Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place cookies 2 inched apart on ungreased baking sheet. Flatten with bottom of clean glass. Sprinkle top with small amount of sugar.


Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are slightly brown. Remove from baking sheet to wire rack and let cool completely.

Our blog...

This is our first blog entry!

We spent almost 3 hours making our blog! From 9:00 to 11:30 last night we were making a name, choosing a template, choosing a font, re-coloring the background, figuring out wording, etc. It was pretty fun!

After we finally agreed on a name, we had to find a template, we all had a favorite one, but all were different from the last person's idea. Finally we agreed on one! And then on to the colors for the blog! One and a half hours later...we finally found colors...only to change them again this morning!
